Dr. Teklehaymanot Weldemichel (Tekle) has a PhD in Human Geography and is currently a Lecturer in Environment and Development at the Global Development Institute, University of Manchester. His research examines social and environmental justice, the politics of violence, humanitarianism, and conservation, with a focus on how policy and power shape lives in contested landscapes. Tekle has also over the last six years closely followed and documented the war and human rights violations in Tigray, including the genocide and deliberate famine orchestrated by the Ethiopian regime and its allies.
